Set Up the Lexware API Key

For the Lexware integration, you need an API key from Lexware Office. The API key is stored in mailfino as a secret access key and is not displayed in normal dialogs.

Open the Interfaces or API Access area in Lexware Office and create a new API key for mailfino. Use a uniquely named key for this, for example: Mailfino Integration. This way, you can more easily see which key is being used for the connection later.

The API key must have permission to read contacts. If you want to transfer form submissions from mailfino to Lexware, the key must also be able to create and edit contacts.

Copy the API key immediately after creating it. Do not store it in unprotected documents or share it via email or chat. If an API key has been accidentally exposed, delete it in Lexware and then connect mailfino with a new key.

The Lexware API is under https://api.lexware.io reachable. This address is already pre-assigned in mailfino and usually does not need to be changed.
