What is CSA certification?
Certified Senders Alliance (CSA) is an independent organization that has set itself the task of improving the quality of email campaigns and making email traffic more secure and efficient. The CSA was founded in 2004 by AOL Germany, Freenet, T-Online and WEB.DE and has since gained a large number of companies as members.
CSA certification is a process by which companies that regularly send emails can review and improve their email practices and processes to ensure that their emails are accepted by recipients and are not classified as spam. Companies that receive CSA certification have proven that they meet high standards in terms of spam prevention, data protection and data security.
The advantage of CSA certification is that companies can make their email campaigns more effective as their emails are less likely to end up in the recipient's spam folder. Certification can also improve the company's reputation with email providers and internet service providers, as certified companies are perceived as more trustworthy and reputable.
To achieve CSA certification, organizations must meet a number of requirements relating to the quality of their email practices and processes. These include:
- Registration and verification of the sender domain: Companies must ensure that their sender domain is correctly registered and verified.
- Compliance with data protection guidelines: Companies must ensure that they comply with privacy policies and that they have the consent of recipients before sending emails.
- Transparent opt-in procedures: The company must ensure that it has transparent opt-in procedures for the recipients of its emails to ensure that they have given their consent to receive emails.
- Spam prevention: Companies must ensure that their emails are only delivered to recipients if they have explicitly consented. They must also ensure that they follow spam prevention best practices to ensure that their emails are accepted by recipients.
- Data security: Companies must ensure that they follow data security best practices to ensure that recipients' data is protected.
Once a company has met all the requirements, it can apply for CSA certification. The certification is valid for one year and the company must be recertified every year to ensure that it continues to meet the standards.
