Unsubscriptions and Blocklists
mailfino uses a block list to reliably protect recipients from further mailings and to ensure that unsubscribe requests are observed system-wide. This mechanism is intended as a simple way for recipients to unsubscribe securely if they no longer wish to receive your newsletters at all. It is not suitable for managing subscriptions for different newsletters; other mechanisms exist for this purpose.
Any address that is unsubscribed will automatically be added to this block list. This can happen in one of the following ways:
- Using the provided unsubscribe form
- Using the „Add to Blocklist“ function of a custom form
- Spam complaints via the abuse form
- Cancel Subscription function in programs like Microsoft Outlook
- Marking as „Spam“ with participating email providers (certified-cloud only)
Every opt-out is effective immediately. The address will then be automatically excluded from future mailings within the same user account.
Blocklists in multi-user accounts
In multi-user accounts, the blocklist applies across all subaccounts within the entire account. This means that if an address is blocked in a subaccount or by the administrator, it is automatically blocked in all other subaccounts of the same multi-user account. This prevents a recipient who has already unsubscribed from being contacted again through another subaccount.
In recipient management, blocked recipients are marked accordingly (grayed out representation). In addition, reporting can be used to track which addresses are listed as „blocked.“.
Lifting of blockades
A lock can be lifted by using a mailfino double opt-in form.
In On-Premise environments, a lock can be directly released in the lock list as needed, provided the necessary permissions are available in the user account.
Important: A ban should only be lifted if the cause has been clearly clarified and further contact is legally permissible.
